David Rosen Comments on Recent Executive Order on AI, Impact to Health Care Sector

Foley & Lardner LLP partner David Rosen is quoted in the Endpoints News article, “Biden signs sweeping executive order on AI, with changes coming for FDA and healthcare,” commenting on the order’s potential impact on the use of artificial intelligence in the health care sector.

Rosen highlighted the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s establishment of a digital health advisory committee, which is set to be operational next year.

“The [FDA’s] Center for Devices and Radiological Health is really tapped into the digital health situation at this point in time,” Rosen explained, “and they’re working very hard to provide significant guidance to people who want to develop medical devices that are either utilizing AI or utilizing AI to provide clinical diagnosis.”
