Foley & Lardner LLP associate Heather Lee was recognized by the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) with the 2023 Pro Bono Service and Excellence Award.
Lee was honored for her work as a member of the Tampa pro bono re-entry program team. The re-entry program was established by the FBA and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida to assist and advise former federal prison inmates who are re-entering society with housing matters, credit repair, and hardship drivers’ licenses, among other things. Lee’s work on pro bono civil rights matters and representation of death row inmates were also commended, and she is now the first person to win this award twice, having previously received the award in 2019 for pro bono trial work.
Foley attorneys working on the re-entry program team also include Samantha Duran, Rachel Falknor, Kristin Fanto, Nathan Gruman, Allison McKown, Estefania Timoney, Cayman Weimer, and Dakota Woll.
Lee received the award at the Tampa Bay FBA’s annual luncheon on December 14, 2023.
