Foley Represents rPlus Energies in $460M Partnership with Sandbrook Capital
Foley & Lardner LLP served as legal advisor to rPlus Energies, a leading private renewable energy developer, in the formation of its platform-level partnership with Sandbrook Capital, a private investment firm dedicated to transforming the world’s energy infrastructure. Sandbrook will invest up to $460 million in the platform alongside continued support from Gardner Group, the founding investor in rPlus and a leading commercial real estate company in the Mountain West.
rPlus’ diversified 15-gigawatt pipeline of solar, wind, battery, and pumped storage hydropower projects builds on its history of successfully commercialized and constructed projects in the western United States. Over the last five years since its founding, rPlus has fully developed over 630 MW of solar and wind projects that are now in service or under construction. Sandbrook’s initial commitment enables the company to bring 1 GW of shovel-ready generation and storage online in the near-term, while advancing the balance of the pipeline through commercialization.
rPlus is a team of committed energy industry professionals working together to develop large-scale renewable energy generation and electric storage projects in the U.S. rPlus specializes in bringing projects to market through partnership with the private sector, municipalities, utilities, and industry-leading technology and service providers. Its portfolio consists of a strategic mix of solar, battery, wind, and pumped storage hydro facilities.
The Foley deal team was led by partners Jeffery Atkin and Jason Allen with support from partners Adam Schurle, Ethan Lenz, Leigh Riley, and Sarah Slack, of counsel Thomas Mullooly, and associates Emily Spallino, Kenneth Johnson, and Ryan Riffle. Lazard Frères & Co. LLC. served as financial advisor to rPlus.
