Foley Represents Boviet Solar in Acquisition of First US Production Facility
Foley & Lardner LLP recently represented Boviet Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (Boviet Solar) in the acquisition of its first North American production facility in Greenville, North Carolina. The firm also assists Boviet with corporate, labor and employment, immigration, and other matters related to establishing and operating in the U.S.
Founded in 2013 in Vietnam, Boviet Solar is a Tier 1 solar technology company that specializes in the manufacturing of Monocrystalline PERC and TOPCon PV cells and Gamma Series Monofacial and Vega Series Bifacial PV modules, as well as solar project development. The company works with EPCs, project developers, solar installers, and contractors to deliver top-performing PV modules for utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and residential solar projects.
Boviet Solar’s U.S. manufacturing facility, scheduled to commence operations in Q1 of 2025, includes two phases and represents a total investment of $294 million. The facility is expected to produce 2 GW of solar panels and 2 GW of PV cells annually and create approximately 908 skilled local jobs, generating positive economic impact for the area upon full ramp-up. This will be Boviet Solar’s first manufacturing facility in the U.S. and the second globally, following its successful track record of PV cell and module production in Vietnam.
