Charlie Morris navigates the complexities of business disputes, bringing a strategic approach to resolving litigation challenges for his clients. He has experience managing cases through all stages of litigation, including mediating and negotiating settlements, drafting motions, performing discovery, conducting depositions, and witness preparation. With both first- and second-chair trial experience, Charlie brings a keen understanding of the intricacies inherent in commercial disputes. He regularly helps clients achieve favorable pre-trial outcomes.

Charlie has successfully represented a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to large corporations, and has helped them through legal challenges with precision and diligence. Charlie excels in assisting clients with partnership disputes, contract disputes, construction, real estate, and white-collar crimes, as well as general business disputes.

Before joining Foley, Charlie worked as an associate at a national law firm in Salt Lake City. Charlie began his career as a judicial extern for Judge David Sam at the United States District Court for the District of Utah.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully obtained temporary restraining order and permanent injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas to protect confidential trade secret information of a premier aerospace distributor.
  • Secured a favorable settlement for client on the last day of a two-week trial, resolving all claims and protecting client’s business.
  • Secured significant trial victory for our client, a real estate investor, acting as note holder for a property that he sought to foreclose on. Won all contested motions in the case and secured judgment in the maximum amount sought by client, as well as a complete dismissal of all claims following a two-day bench trial.
  • Negotiated the payment and release of claims on behalf of well-known Los Angeles-based entertainment client regarding her prior contract with a management agency. Conducted full investigation and successfully disputed all allegations of breach.
  • Represented a government contractor in its federal contract appeal for the awarding of a defense contract. Appealed to the United States Government Accountability Office.
  • Represented client in suit against the largest nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and cryptocurrency marketplaces.
  • Successfully litigated claim against a private equity group, resulting in a favorable settlement for client and resolution of disputed funds at issue.
  • Successfully represented a franchisee for a national property management company. Defended claims of underpayment and breach of contract, ultimately garnered favorable settlement resolving dispute and protecting client’s long-term viability.
  • Successfully obtained temporary restraining order to protect client’s software and intellectual property, as well as highly sensitive client financial information.
  • Successfully obtained complete dismissal of all claims and order compelling arbitration on behalf of a large cryptocurrency service provider in litigation filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
  • Successfully obtained temporary restraining order in Delaware Chancery Court to secure cryptocurrency mining equipment valued at more than $4 million on behalf of large cryptocurrency service provider.
