Antu Xie

Associate

AnTu (James) Xie brings over seven years of patent prosecution experience to his role as an associate in Foley’s Electronics Practice Group.

James focuses his practice on wireless technology, machine learning, and blockchain technology. In his previous role as a patent agent at various law firms, James used his science and research background to craft and successfully prosecute dozens of patent applications in technology areas such as software, sensor technology, and subsurface systems. He applies that same experience as a strategist for his clients, working to predict future scenarios where others may try to infringe on their innovations.

While in graduate school, James was a research assistant studying mathematical modeling of microscale fracture phenomena in shale at Texas A&M University and assessed the patentability and business potential of various inventions at Northwestern University’s Innovation and New Ventures Office.
