Patrick Daugherty Joins Global Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency Association Steering Committee
Daugherty demonstrates firm’s prowess in innovative technology sector by joining industry leaders to propose digital asset tokens’ disclosure guidelines
Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that partner Patrick Daugherty is among a select group of distinguished scholars and senior legal professionals who will serve as members of the newly formed Global Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency Association (Global DCA) Steering Committee. The Steering Committee has assumed responsibility for recommending disclosure guidelines for digital asset tokens offered in the United States as the blockchain tech industry matures and more than 50 million Americans have purchased these assets.
Global DCA, a leading trade association for the digital asset and cryptocurrency industry, organized the Steering Committee in collaboration with Global Blockchain Business Council, The Digital Chamber, and The Proof of Stake Alliance. The Steering Committee excludes industry stakeholders in order to assure objectivity.
Daugherty, who leads Foley’s Digital Assets, Web3 & NFT Practice within the firm’s Innovative Technology Sector, brings to the Steering Committee four decades of experience in financial regulation and innovation. As an adjunct professor at Cornell and Northwestern law schools and a former Counsel to an SEC Commissioner, he offers deep insight on regulatory matters impacting both institutional and entrepreneurial participants in the digital asset industry. His clients include exchanges, crypto funds, family offices and proprietary trading firms, Layer 1 and Layer 2 protocol developers, and token sellers.
