Foley partners Lori Rubin Garber, chair of the firm’s national Government Enforcement Defense & Investigations Practice Group, and Leah D’Aurora Richardson are speaking on the Center for Connected Health Policy’s (CCHP) Webinar: Loper Bright/Chevron on August 28.
This webinar will discuss how the telehealth industry may be affected by the Supreme Court’s recent decision to favor the plaintiffs in Loper Bright v. Raimondo to overturn the “Chevron Doctrine,” which was named for the 1984 Supreme Court Case Chevron USA, Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. The Chevron Doctrine indicates that if a court concluded a statute was silent or ambiguous, the court would defer to an agency’s interpretation of the statute if a permissible interpretation. Loper Bright puts that authority back in the courts to resolve that ambiguity.
CCHP’s mission is to advance state and national telehealth policies that promote better systems of care and improved health outcomes, as well as provide more equitable access to quality, affordable health care and services.
