Foley Strengthens Florida Presence with Addition of Two Corporate Partners
The firm enhances its corporate and transactional capabilities in the Innovative Technology Sector
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that it has expanded its Innovative Technology Sector and Transactions Practice Group with the addition of partners Joshua Ehrenfeld and Charles Curley to the firm’s Jacksonville office. Ehrenfeld and Curley bring significant experience advising companies on a wide range of corporate and transactional matters, including domestic and cross-border deals.
“We are pleased to welcome Josh and Charles to Foley. Their addition reflects our broader commitment to attracting top talent and providing comprehensive transactional services across key markets and sectors,” said Michael Okaty, co-chair of Foley’s Transactions Practice Group. “Both Josh and Charles are highly regarded for their work on complex corporate matters and bring valuable experience in the technology and financial sectors that will further strengthen our team and benefit our clients.”
Ehrenfeld brings extensive experience advising on domestic and international taxation, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, and corporate finance. He advises clients worldwide on a variety of business issues, including cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and regulatory matters. Ehrenfeld also has significant experience structuring foreign direct investment into the U.S. and advising on global personnel and employment issues. His background includes representing borrowers and lenders in various financial transactions, including leveraged financings, restructurings, and private placements.
Curley focuses his practice on U.S. and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, joint ventures, debt and equity offerings, and general corporate matters. He has advised clients on more than $60 billion worth of transactions across various sectors, with a particular focus on financial technology. Curley’s broad experience includes representing clients ranging from mid-market businesses to international public companies, both as in-house counsel and in private practice, providing a well-rounded perspective on corporate transactions.
“We continue to invest in expanding our Florida offices, and the addition of Josh and Charles is a key part of our strategy to strengthen our capabilities in the region,” said Danielle Whitley, managing partner of Foley’s Jacksonville office. “Their experience enhances our robust corporate talent in Florida and strengthens our presence in the Innovative Technology Sector regionally and beyond. We are thrilled to welcome them to the firm.”
In a joint statement, Ehrenfeld and Curley said, “Foley’s strong national platform and established presence in the innovative technology sector were key factors in our decision to join the firm. We are excited to contribute to Foley’s growth in Florida and look forward to collaborating with our new colleagues to deliver tailored solutions that address clients’ evolving needs.”
Ehrenfeld and Curley come to Foley from Burr & Forman, where they were partners in the firm’s Corporate and Tax Practice Groups.
