Claire Marblestone Honored as Woman of Influence by L.A. Business First
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Claire Marblestone is recognized by L.A. Business First as among the 2024 Women of Influence honorees.
Representing a cross-section of industries across Los Angeles, the ten honorees showcase their influence in their professional lives and in their communities.
Marblestone, a health care transactional and regulatory attorney, advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, digital health providers, and health care businesses on a range of regulatory and compliance issues. Her practice places emphasis on data privacy, corporate practice of medicine, health care mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures, and she regularly counsels companies focused on women’s health care.
In her honoree Q&A with L.A. Business First, Marblestone offered guidance for young professionals, recommending that new attorneys always keep in mind the long arc of their careers and whether something they are working towards now will be important down the line. “If it is, keep up the good fight,” she said. “If it is not, consider letting it go.”
She also described her passion for mentorship, her leadership perspective, and how she helps give back to her Los Angeles community. Marblestone said she prefers to “help mentees find their own voice and discover their own strengths rather than guide them on a particular path.”
“I think it is helpful to not wait for the title of a leadership role before acting like a leader,” Marblestone said of leadership. “It takes courage for women and diverse people to act in that way, but I think it is one of the best ways to demonstrate that you have a voice that deserves a seat at the table.”
On her involvement with the wider community, she explained her role in Foley’s national partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Marblestone serve on the local committee in Los Angeles and helps find ways to bolster the firm’s partnership with the organization, including through mentorship, resources, and hands-on support.
“Our involvement reflects our belief in giving back and fostering the next generation of leaders,” she added.
