Anne Sekel Shares Her 2023 Priorities as New York Managing Partner
Foley & Lardner LLP Partner Anne Sekel is quoted in the Law360 article, “8 New York Managing Partners On Their Priorities For 2023,” discussing her major focuses for 2023.
Sekel, who is the managing partner for Foley’s New York office, explained the importance of talent development. “We strive to recruit lateral associates and partners who want to make their professional home at Foley for years to come, because we are intently focused on not only attracting but also retaining top talent,” she said.
“I anticipate that in the coming year, the successful law firms will be the ones that focus on further developing some of these other (non-compensation related) qualities, such as investing in professional development, striving for lower attrition rates — which signals a happy and engaged work force — and addressing the mental health struggles of its attorneys,” she noted.
Sekel emphasized Foley is committed to investing in the firm’s four key sectors: energy, health care, life sciences, and innovative technology. “We want Foley to be the go-to firm in these sectors, and we expect work in these areas to continue to grow in 2023,” she added.
