Washington, D.C., Office Managing Partner David Sanders was featured in a Q&A with DCA Live, “David Sanders is Foley & Lardner’s new Washington Managing Partner,” about his background and career trajectory, his practice, his new role with the firm, and his life outside of the law.
Sanders said he has lived his entire life in the D.C. area except for the “four amazing years” he spent as a student at the University of Michigan. He began his practice at a small D.C. firm that merged with Foley in 2001 and has been with the firm ever since. His practice is concentrated on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, employment, noncompete and trade secret issues, executive employment and termination agreements, leases, license agreements, general corporate matters, and the drafting and negotiating of contracts and corporate documents.
He said serving as the office managing partner is a “privilege,” one that provides “an immense opportunity to lead our people in support of the firm’s mission to deliver the very best in client service, as well as continue building an office that reflects the diversity of the dynamic and vibrant Washington community in which we practice.”
He also said he hoped “to expand the firm’s local presence and continue to steward community outreach and involvement to share what a great place we are building in D.C.”
