Foley is pleased to announce that the firm’s representation of Guggenheim Baseball Management in its acquisition of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been recognized by The M&A Advisor as the M&A Deal of the Year (Between $1 Billion and $2.5 Billion).
Valued at over $2 billion and marking the single largest transaction ever for a professional sports franchise, the deal was completed with the assistance of more than 60 Foley attorneys from 11 offices and 12 different practice groups. Irwin P. Raij, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Sports Industry Team, led the Foley team that helped to finalize the deal.
In order to determine the winners of the 11th Annual M&A Advisor Awards, an independent panel of judges representing a cross-section of the M&A industry reviewed a record 423 nominations submitted by over 600 companies. Winning deals were selected based on the transaction value and impact on shareholder/company value, as well as the impact of the transaction on the market/industry.
