Foley Partners Steven Hilfinger and Mark Aiello were quoted in an article that appeared in the Detroit Free Press on October 2, 2010 titled “Visteon now a lot smaller, but better.” Hilfinger and Aiello discuss the state of the automotive supplier industry in the wake of the financial crisis, noting that some suppliers have become burdened with debt after not filing for bankruptcy and are struggling to obtain loans while larger companies gain more leverage. Despite the problems that still exist for many suppliers, they state that banks previously refusing to renew loans a year ago are now taking meetings with suppliers.
