Lena Robins Recognized By Nightingale’s Healthcare News.
Foley announced today that Lena Robins was named one of Nightingale’s Healthcare News Outstanding Young Healthcare Lawyers of 2007. Robins was among 12 winners named to this year’s list, which was published in the September issue of Nightingale’s, a monthly newsletter for professionals serving the health care industry.
Robins is senior counsel in Foley’s Health Care and Life Sciences Industry Teams in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She focuses on regulatory matters arising under Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payment programs.
Robins advises health care providers, including hospitals and health systems, home health agencies, medical transportation providers, and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, on a range of reimbursement matters relating to coverage and payment. She also regularly counsels providers on federal and state fraud issues, including false claims, anti-kickback, false billings, and self-referral matters. In addition, she represents clients in legislative and regulatory matters before Congress and federal agencies.
Robins is currently Vice Chair of the American Health Lawyers Association Part D Task Force and is the past Chair of the District of Columbia Bar Health Law Steering Committee.
Robins previously served as an attorney with the Office of General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney’s Office.
