Partner Michael Blau contributed an article to the September 2016 issue of HealthCare Business News, “Winds of Change Buffet Community Oncology.” The article discussed the new initiatives and reforms that have had profound implications for how oncology services will be provided and paid in the future. Blau shared insights on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation’s Oncology Care Model, which will test episode-of-care payments for chemotherapy services, along with the enactment of the Medicare and CHIP Reauthorization Act, which allows hospitals to enter into gain-sharing arrangements with oncologists to reward them for reducing medically unnecessary hospital care.
