Laura J. Gage is a retired partner at Foley & Lardner LLP. As vice chair of the firm’s Health Care Industry Team, she counseled health care clients on corporate matters and compliance issues. Her practice focused on the transactional aspects of health care law, including formation of joint ventures, affiliations, and acquisition and sale of physician practices. Laura has experience in analyzing transactions and contractual arrangements for compliance with health care fraud and abuse laws and physician self-referral restrictions. She has prepared and oversaw the physician recruitment programs for a number of clients. She also represented health care clients in general corporate matters, partnership restructuring, and the dissolution of practices, as well as negotiating contractual matters.

Laura’s professional activities include speaking engagements on a variety of topics including the Stark Law and compliance matters. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. She also is a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association’s Health Law Section, previously serving as a member of the Section’s governing council. She also served as editor of the Wisconsin State Bar’s Health Law Wisconsin newsletter.

She has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2009 – 2013 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® in the area of health care law.
