Robert Gentile uses his educational background in engineering, business, and law to help his clients develop strong patent portfolios as part of Foley’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice and Manufacturing Sector.

Robert’s experience includes preparing and prosecuting utility and design patent applications (both domestically and foreign), conducting inventor meetings and brainstorming sessions, and patent portfolio management and strategy development. He also offers guidance on a variety of IP-related topics, including clearance and patentability assessments, noninfringement and invalidity opinions, patent licensing, and IP due diligence.

His experience spans various technology areas, with a particular focus on vehicle and automotive systems (including internal combustion, hybrid, and electrified vehicles; and telematics), consumer products, sports equipment, security systems and devices, and food preparation equipment.
