The daily risks of cyber threats to our networks and data from outside actors and current conflicts around the world can often overshadow the dangers posed to a business or agency by its own employees, vendors, and contractors. However, insider threats present serious risks to those same networks and data, and further significantly jeopardize trust and morale.
Join us at the next in-person and live streaming meeting of the Midwest Cyber Security Alliance (MCSA) on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Brian Resler, vice president at Stroz Friedberg Inc., an Aon company, and former career prosecutor and assistant deputy chief for litigation at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section, will address the importance of a culture of security and a comprehensive and tailored approach to mitigate insider threats.
Discussion topics include:
- Identifying and understanding insider threat actors and their motivations
- Mitigating relevant vulnerabilities to physical and network security
- Establishing systems for training, monitoring, logging, and investigation and recovery from initial engagement to post-separation.
A panel of contributors will join Brian to provide their own unique insights. Matt Krueger, partner, Foley & Lardner LLP, will offer a perspective from the government investigations side; Maureen Stewart, senior counsel, Foley & Lardner LLP, will speak to insider threats from a labor and employment perspective; and Angela Johnson, chief information security officer of Children’s Wisconsin and president of MCSA, will speak from the corporate point of view.

Foley & Lardner LLP will apply for CLE credit after the program, wherever applicable. Foley & Lardner LLP certifies that this activity has been approved for California MCLE credits by the State Bar of California. Foley & Lardner LLP is a State Bar of California MCLE approved provider. New York licensed attorneys admitted two years or less are not eligible to earn CLE credit through traditional formats. This program is appropriate for experienced New York attorneys only. Certificates of attendance will be distributed to eligible participants approximately eight weeks after the web conference via email.

To be eligible for CLE credit, fully complete and sign the CLE Attendance Form provided on-site and return it to the registration table before you leave the program. Be sure to indicate your sign-in and sign-out times on this form as well, regardless of whether you arrive late, leave early, or attend the full duration of the program.
Important Information for New York / New Jersey Attorneys: Per recent New York State Bar requirements, when you return your completed CLE Attendance Form to the registration table upon leaving the program, you must also have Foley staff review and initial your form to verify your attendance.

To be eligible for CLE credit, you will need to be logged into the Microsoft Teams meeting for the full duration of the live event; credit may not be obtained by viewing and/or listening to a program recording after the event. Your first and last names must also be entered upon joining the meeting and displayed throughout the program. Additionally, you will need to complete and return the Attorney Affirmation Form that will be made available.
