Partner James De Vellis presented on “Protecting your IP” during the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) AgTech program on September 15, 2021.
James regularly participates in CTA programs where he mentors and offers his services to Canadian companies as they expand into the U.S. and beyond. In particular, the AgTech CTA program helps to support the growth of Canadian start-ups that are looking to expand into the Upper Midwest and California markets, two of the largest agricultural markets in the United States. Ten innovative companies throughout Canada were chosen to participate in the program. These select companies have the opportunity to attend weekly sessions presented virtually over 12 weeks. During these sessions, they can connect with potential partners and investors in the U.S. and build skills in pitching, fundraising, marketing, tax and legal considerations, customer acquisition, among others.

- NuWave Research: Increasing the Quality, Yield, and Efficiency of Processing Through Industrial Vacuum Microwave Technology
- UBI Meat Experts: Building a meat-grading and monitoring platform that leverages AI/ML allowing meat processors to measure and document quality assurance in real-time
- Wyvern: Intelligence from Space, Anywhere
