Foley Partner Nathaniel Lacktman, Chair of the firm’s Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team, will present at the Central & North Florida HIMSS Florida Telehealth Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 5, 2020. His presentation is titled, “Telemedicine Law & Regulation in Florida and Beyond.”
There are numerous regulatory issues and complexities when creating a telemedicine company or service program, particularly if the provider or hospital wants to deliver these services across states or across countries. Opportunities abound, and while many providers are narrowly focused on medical board practice standards, they must think bigger. Not only do they leave opportunities unexplored, but they might fail to address other important legal issues and requirements in connection with health care services and items. This session will discuss key legal issues in building and growing a telemedicine service line, including licensure, doctor-patient relationships, reimbursement, and e-commerce.
