Partner Kevin Schulz will speak about sports law at the University of Wisconsin Law School on March 7. He was invited by the law school’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society to discuss what it means to be a sports lawyer and to provide insights into developments and trends in the sports industry, including the changing landscape for sports media rights and the ongoing growth and evolution of esports.
Schulz is co-chair of the firm’s Sports Industry Team and a 1999 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School. His practice focuses in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions, including in the professional sports industry, and he routinely advises sports clients in the sale and acquisition of professional sports franchises, licensing arrangements, promotional and advertising agreements, sponsorship and naming rights agreements, joint ventures, ticketing arrangements, stadium and arena service agreements, and television, radio, and media rights agreements.
