Foley Partner Aaron Tantleff, member of the firm’s Technology Transactions & Outsourcing Practice, will present on prioritizing GDPR compliance actions during a live webinar on February 6, 2018, hosted by X1 Discovery, Inc.
Enforcement of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), begins May 25, 2018, and significantly reshapes the information governance landscape for organizations worldwide that control, process or store the data of European residents. GDPR significantly increases the maximum fines that may be imposed against an organization; up to 4% of annual global revenue or €20 million (whichever is higher).
The GDPR requires that an organization has absolute knowledge of where all EU personal data is stored across the enterprise and be able to remove it when required. Actual demonstrated compliance will require the ability to quickly search across all data sources in the enterprise. This poses a significant challenge with unstructured data that is distributed on desktops and file servers across the world. This may fundamentally change the way organizations approach the collection, processing, storage and disclosure of personal data.
You are invited to attend this complimentary one-hour webinar, which will cover:
- Prioritizing GDPR compliance actions
- Successes and cautions learned up to now
- Why an effective and operational information governance capability is essential to GDPR compliance
- Interactive Q&A
Additional presenters include Jason Elmer, Managing Director of Global Regulatory Cybersecurity Services at Duff & Phelps, and John Patzakis, Executive Chairman at X1 Discovery, Inc.
