James R. Ritter

James “Jay” Ritter’s practice focuses on corporate and business law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and general corporate matters. A member of the Transactions Practice Group, Jay’s background in Finance and Entrepreneurship gives him — and, more importantly, his clients — the advantage.
Before joining Foley, James was a legal intern for a firm in Fort Lauderdale. As a legal clerk, he researched different business entity structures to assist clients in organizing their businesses. During law school, James worked as a summer associate at Foley, where he researched and drafted documents on the principles of environmental, social, and governance (ESG). James also worked for a real estate development company in Gainesville during that time.
