Trends in Intellectual Property Protection and Antitrust Enforcement in China
Program Details:
As China continues to grow in importance in the global economy, the creation and protection of intellectual property and the enforcement of its competition laws have received considerable international attention. Some US companies are concerned that their intellectual property is inadequately protected in China. Others may be unsure about whether a proposed investment or marketing program will face antitrust scrutiny.
To address these issues, NERA is pleased to present this seminar and its distinguished panel of experts. Catherine Sun, Managing Partner of the Shanghai office of Foley & Lardner, will lead a discussion of the current trends in protection of IP in China. Dr. Alan Cox, of NERA’s San Francisco office, will also discuss IP litigation and damages in China, including updates to his paper “Intellectual Property Rights Protection in China: Trends in Litigation and Economic Damages.” Finally, Dr. Fei Deng, of NERA’s San Francisco office, will speak on recent trends in enforcement of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law. NERA Senior Vice President Dr. Gregory K. Leonard will moderate the discussion.
