How to Keep Out of Trouble With the OIG and the Top Ten Most Common Compliance Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Part 1 of this session will explore the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services, known to most as the “OIG.” Over the years, the OIG has issued numerous guidance documents specifically applicable to the ambulance industry, and has taken enforcement action against a number of ambulance companies. Because the OIG has the ability to shut down your company, it is imperative to know how it thinks, what it expects and what to do if it comes calling.

Part 2 will identify the ten most common compliance deficiencies found in ambulance companies. It will cover how to conduct an effective internal audit program to detect these problems, and how to fix them once detected.
