Ms. Anderson is spoke on February 21, 2008 from 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Her session was titled “Governmental Focus on Quality Compliance.” Quality of care is the number-one priority for health care organizations today. The federal reimbursement system is undergoing profound change and is focused now on driving quality of care through payment policy changes, public reporting and enforcement. In addition, the Office of the Inspector General and the American Health Lawyers Association recently issued guidance for boards of health care organizations regarding their fiduciary responsibilities for quality of care and patient safety. In this session, the speaker will discuss the quality revolution and the reimbursement changes linking quality to the right of payment and will provide practical recommendations for health care organizations to consider responding to the heightened focus on quality of care.
