John T. Sefton is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP where he counseled clients in the acquisition and operation of business enterprises and agribusiness holdings of real estate. As a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Transactions & Business Counseling Practices, he represented both U.S. companies doing business abroad and foreign clients who have acquired or disposed of U.S. enterprises. John advised a number of closely held family businesses and corporations and developed extensive experience in product distribution, environmental, Florida taxation, and creditors’ rights problems. He served as counsel for a number of financial institutions in Florida and drafted documentation and compliance manuals for several Florida lenders.
