Peter Vogel Appointed to Texas Work Group on Blockchain Matters by Texas Speaker of the House
Foley & Lardner LLP Of Counsel Peter Vogel was appointed to the Texas Work Group on Blockchain Matters by Texas Speaker of the House Dade Phelan on November 10, 2021. Vogel was appointed to the Work Group for his knowledge and experience in blockchain technology, including his work for the Texas Blockchain Council and working with the Texas legislature in the 2021 session on Article 12 of the Texas Uniform Commercial Code which addresses digital assets such as cryptocurrency. The Work Group is tasked with developing a master plan for the expansion of the blockchain industry in Texas and recommending policies and state investments in connection with blockchain technology.
Vogel, a litigator and resident of Foley’s Dallas office, is a member of the firm’s Innovative Technology Sector, Blockchain Task Force, and NFT Task Force, as well as the firm’s Privacy, Security & Information Management and Technology Transactions & Outsourcing Practices. With a master’s degree in computer science and more than 30 years of experience, he combines his technical and business background with his legal knowledge to help companies with information technology, cyber intrusion, cloud services, internet litigation, dispute resolution, and contract negotiation matters.
