Lauren P. Carboni
Senior Counsel
Lauren Carboni advises a variety of clients in the health care, cannabis, and psychedelic industries on regulatory, compliance, litigation, and enforcement issues. She is a creative and solutions-oriented attorney, with an arsenal of legal strengths at her disposal. As both a regulatory attorney and litigator, Lauren brings a unique perspective to counseling clients with respect to business strategy, fraud and abuse protection, regulatory compliance matters, and investigation defense. She also co-chairs the Health Care & Life Sciences Sector’s Health Care Litigation Area of Focus.
Lauren’s health care experience includes regularly advising clients on a variety of complex federal and state regulatory requirements and strategies, including response to and compliance with investigations and audits undertaken by federal and state regulatory and enforcement agencies, as well as litigation (including False Claims Acts and administrative challenges). She also is well versed in issues related to the corporate practice of medicine and referral-source contracting. Lauren counsels clients in the cannabis and psychedelic industries on licensing, regulatory compliance, general business, and the intersection of state and federal law.
Lauren is active in the community and committed to providing pro bono services. She serves on the board of the Chanda Center for Health, a nonprofit health center that seeks to improve the quality of life for individuals with long-term physical disabilities by providing population-competent care.
