Foley attorney Courtenay Brinckerhoff is speaking at the Toronto Intellectual Property Grouplunch meeting on Thursday, November 29, 2007 held at the Rosewater Supper Club. The reception starts at noon with lunch to follow.
Topic: What’s Going On South of the Border?
Patent practitioners everywhere were gearing up for the new U.S. patent rules limiting the number of claims, continuing applications, and requests for continued examination, which were set to go into effect on November 1, 2007. Now, these are all up in the air in light of a last-minute injunction granted to GlaxoSmithKline which blocks their implementation. Meanwhile, significant patent reform that would overhaul the law as it relates to procurement, enforcement and validity of patents continues to work its way through the United States Congress. Courtenay Brinckerhoff will speak on all these developments affecting patent law in the United States.
