Foley Partner Brian McNamara will be speaking on IP enforcement and licensing using content recognition strategies and forensics at the 2nd Annual Pike & Fischer Legal Risk Management Forum on September 16-17 in Washington, D.C.
McNamara will participate on a panel titled “Is MySpace Really Mine? Licensing, ownership, and infringement in Web 2.0” on September 17, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

This panel will explore the best ways to clarify who owns what and for what purposes. For copyrighted content, the panel will outline methods for reaching agreements that foster non-infringing uses and avoid litigation, and will highlight unique challenges facing UGC sites under European law. The panel will also examine IP enforcement strategies through the use of state-of-the-art technologies and forensic tools.
