TexasBarCLE will present a webcast on Internet contract issues led by Partner Peter S. Vogel, Chair of Gardere's Internet, eCommerce, and Technology Industry Team, on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. CST.
The world has changed with the growth and proliferation of the Internet and as a result all lawyers and clients are now confronted with creating contracts when visiting websites, and purchasing goods and services. The Internet did not exist when many lawyers were law students and this webcast will focus on contractual concerns in Terms of Use. As well the Uniform Electronic Transaction Act (UETA) and eSign were established to put a structure in place. Jurisdiction and venue of Internet transactions becomes more complicated and will be discussed in this webcast. The impact of Cloud Computing on clients' businesses will also be presented.
