As the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, more and more businesses are investigating its potential to create value in the form of improved operational safety and productivity, process and resource optimization, smarter decision-making, and visibility into new revenue-generating functions. However, connecting “everything” comes with a significant drawback: increased vulnerability to cyber attacks. While IoT greatly enhances interconnectivity and data sharing capabilities, it also creates new opportunities for hackers and other malicious actors to gain access to sensitive business information such as intellectual property and customer data, or even shut down critical system and operations.
So how does a business effectively manage its cyber risk, mitigate potential loss, and earn consumer trust in the age of IoT?
