Webinar: After the Pandemic—What Happens Next? Distribution, Franchise, and Supply Chain Issues
On June 23, 2020, the Distribution & Franchise Practice Group of Foley & Lardner LLP presented the next in our coronavirus webinar series, entitled “After the Pandemic—What Happens Next? Distribution, Franchise, and Supply Chain Issues.” The focus of the webinar was returning to business as usual as restrictions on mobility and commerce are eased. During the course of the 90-minute session, our panel of experts addressed how distribution, franchise, and supply chain companies can best overcome the unique obstacles to returning to profitability presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The topics to be addressed include supply chain disruptions, force majeure clauses, insurance coverage issues, real estate and finance, and bankruptcy.
Some of these topics were covered previously at a more basic, introductory level as part of the “Emergency Survival Toolkit” presented at our April 13, 2020 coronavirus webinar, ”Surviving the Shutdown—What Every Distributor, Dealer, and Franchisee Needs to Know.” That initial webinar also focused heavily on Act Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans available under the Coronavirus Aid, Recovery, and Economic Security (CARES Act). If you missed the April 13, 2020 coronavirus webinar, the materials are available HERE.
In coming weeks, our next coronavirus webinar will focus on how distribution, franchise, and supply chain companies can best prepare for Small Business Administration (SBA) audits and clawbacks of PPP loan funding and potential denial of the most salient feature of a PPP loan: loan forgiveness. In addition, you will soon be receiving information about upcoming sessions of our 29th Annual Law of Product Distribution & Franchise Seminar.
