Foley partner Aaron Tantleff, a member of the firm’s Technology Transactions, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Practice, participated as one of two distinguished keynote speakers at the 2024 Global Cyber Security Initiative (GCSI 2024) 5th Annual Conference in Chicago on April 18.
Following this year’s conference theme of “Cyber Risk & Regulations: Surviving the Future,” Aaron’s session explored the evolution of cyber-attacks then, now, and in the future. He began by taking the audience on a journey into the past, providing a history of cyber-attacks in the early years from the 1960s through the 1980s and continuing into the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. From there, Aaron shared an overview of the current cyber threat landscape now before taking a look ahead at future risk factors such as:
- The rise of artificial intelligence (AI)
- The convergence of AI and cybersecurity
- AI-powered cyber defense
- Regulatory considerations
