The ATA EDGE2024 Policy Conference will take a moment to celebrate telehealth policy successes and keep a keen eye towards the new year and new state and federal policy challenges that will face our industry. This year’s event will bring into focus the dynamic nature of telehealth policy in an unpredictable political environment, as we build the forward-thinking strategies needed to continually pivot and adapt to evolving legislative priorities.

Nathaniel Lacktman, Chair-Elect of the ATA Board of Directors, will be a speaker at a fireside chat titled, “Navigating Telemedicine’s Role in Combating the Opioid Crisis: Insights from Law Enforcement.” He will be joined by Scott Brinks, former DEA Section Chief of Regulatory Drafting and Policy Support, to bring his expertise to discuss the evolving intersection of telemedicine and opioid crisis management. At the forefront of enforcement and regulatory insights, this session will explore how telemedicine can play a critical role in expanding access to treatment while addressing the risks of misuse. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of policy implications, strategies for responsible prescribing, and the collaborative steps required to ensure telemedicine supports, rather than exacerbates, this ongoing public health challenge.
