Foley’s 2023 Summer Associate Program officially kicked off on May 22 in 18 of the firm’s offices. We are thrilled to have 98 dynamic first- and second-year law students from 46 different schools with us for the summer. During their time here, this group will get to know Foley and experience firsthand our truly inclusive, values-based, performance culture grounded in a ONE TEAM mindset and fueled by active collaboration.
This year’s summer associates recently convened in Chicago for our 2023 Summer Associate Retreat, the marquee event of Foley’s Summer Program and perhaps one of the best opportunities for them to get acquainted with the firm and discover what makes Foley a special place to start their career. Packed with panels, activities, and fun, the retreat agenda included a mix of substantive programming and time to network and build relationships.
Kicking things off, Daljit Doogal, Foley Chairman and CEO, and Stan Jaspan, Managing Partner, welcomed this year’s summer class. Over the next two days, the group participated in interactive panel discussions and workshops to learn more about life as a Foley associate. In the evenings the group cruised around the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and enjoyed dinner at the Shedd Aquarium. The retreat wrapped up with a session on helping our summers build resilience in their early legal careers.
With several weeks remaining in this year’s summer program, our summer associates will continue to receive mentoring, training, and substantive legal work; participate in events and activities; and have opportunities to build relationships and work together. All valuable skills and knowledge to help round out their law school curriculum.
