Wood’s Experience With Tenant-In-Common Offerings Bolsters West Coast Corporate Practice, Provides Firm With Coast-To-Coast TIC Resources.
Foley announced today that Craig P. Wood has joined its Los Angeles office as a partner in the Business Law Department and a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice. Wood focuses his practice on managing complex Tenant-In-Common (TIC) offerings, along with general real estate transactions throughout the United States. In addition to his TIC practice, he works with large institutional clients on developing private equity funding for real estate investment, as well as with pension funds and pension fund advisors. “The addition of Craig is the latest step in our strategic plan to expand our Los Angeles corporate practice, as well as to increase our service offerings to clients nationwide,” said Los Angeles Office Managing Partner Jack Lasater. “His depth of experience in the real estate industry, particularly in the TIC arena, complements our strengths on the West Coast as well as nationally.”
“Craig’s addition strengthens our ability to provide counsel to TIC sponsors nationally, particularly in the critical region of Southern California,” said Stephen Burr, a Boston partner who leads Foley’s TIC practice. “He also brings significant expertise in real estate capital markets transactions generally, which has become increasingly important as the TIC industry expands its search for equity into larger, more institutional channels.”
Wood joins Foley from Greenberg Glusker and prior to that practiced law in San Francisco for more than 20 years.
Wood’s practice encompasses joint ventures for the joint ownership and operation of real estate nationally. Additionally, Wood works with institutions, institutional investors and developers in more traditional aspects of real estate law including real property acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, finance and the various aspects of the development cycle.
Wood earned his juris doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, a master’s degree from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
