Foley announced today that its Madison, Wisconsin office was honored by the Dane County Bar Association (DCBA) with a pro bono award for outstanding service to the Dane County community. The award was presented at the DCBA’s annual law day pro bono breakfast on May 1, 2009, in Madison.
The firm was recognized by the DCBA based on the pro bono services performed by Madison Office attorneys Daniel Kaplan, Sharon Mollman-Elliot and Tony McGrath for work on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County, among other non-profit and pro bono clients. Keynote speaker for the event, former Justice Louis Butler, made a point of noting the extent of that commitment, remarking that the attorneys have devoted weeks of time to pro bono work for the Club.
All three attorneys have provided counsel, advice and services to and on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County for many years. In addition, each attorney (as well as other attorneys in the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP) has provided pro bono services to additional non-profit organizations in Dane County, including, among others: The Urban League of Greater Madison, Creative Learning Preschool and Child Care Center, the Hillel Foundation – University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Madison Jewish Community Council, the Aldo Leopold Nature Center, and the Rape Crisis Center of Dane County.
