Gardere Receives Corporate Distinction Award from American Diabetes Association
Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP has been recognized by the Houston chapter of the American Diabetes Association for its commitment in the fight against diabetes.
The Firm received the Houston ADA's highest corporate recognition, The Corporate Distinction Award, at the 2010 Wine and Roses Gala on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the InterContinental Hotel. Also recognized at the event was Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who received the ADA's 2010 Generosity to Mankind Award, and Jeffrey S. Brown, M.D., who received the 2010 Physician/Scientist of the Year Award.
In singling out Gardere, the Houston ADA cited the Firm's history of volunteerism with the ADA, including participation in the annual Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes, as well as the Firm's sponsorship of Step Out. In addition, Houston Partner Richard O. Faulk previously served as the chairman of the ADA's Houston Region, and Houston Partner Jose Berlanga has led the Houston ADA's Latino initiative.
"Gardere is committed to making a difference in our community," says Steve Good, Gardere's managing partner. "Rick and Jose, and all the lawyers and staff who participate every year in Step Out and other ADA events, are literally and figuratively 'walking the walk' in the fight against diabetes. We're proud of their work on behalf of the American Diabetes Association, and we're honored to accept the Corporate Distinction Award."
