Law360 covered a 4th District Court of Appeals decision to hear oral arguments in September in an energy company's complaint that Longview Energy Co. is asking for an excessive appeals bond. A judge previously sided with Longview in its request that two of its directors and their companies, The Huff Energy Fund LP and Riley-Huff Energy Group LLC, each post bonds equal to the statutory cap of $25 million or half of their net worth. The appeal is concurrent with the Huff parties' appeal of a previous decision awarding Longview money and assets Longview said it was owed after it was stripped of the opportunity to buy 46,000 acres in the Eagle Ford Shale.
Longview Energy Co. is represented by Gardere litigation attorneys Craig B. Florence, Randy D. Gordon and Rachel Kingrey.
