Partner Andrew Baum was quoted in a Huffington Post article published on June 19, 2014, titled “There’s Never Been A Trademark As Offensive As Redskins.” The article discussed the recent and rare cancellation made by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office of six trademarks registered by the Washington Redskins football franchise. Baum said, “It’s unusual for the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to deal with an issue that is so fraught with racial and ethnic sensitivity that is under such a big spotlight.”
