Foley Advises Gundersen Health System in $99.55M Private Activity Bond Refinancing
Foley & Lardner LLP acted as counsel to Gundersen Health System in its recent bond refinancing facilitated by the Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority (WHEFA), valued at $99,550,000.
The private activity bond financing, underwritten by Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Global Markets Inc., is tax-exempt and will help Gundersen refinance certain bonds previously issued by WHEFA in 2011. This low-interest financing strategy is critical in allowing Gundersen, which employees 7,900 full-time equivalents in Wisconsin, to execute on its mission of improving the health of its communities, easing the financial burden of healthcare and offering an outstanding experience of care.
The Foley deal team was led by Of Counsel Dana Lach and Associate Heba Hazzaa.
