Foley Named 2021 Outstanding Mid-Size Firm by Houston Bar Foundation
Foley & Lardner LLP is proud to announce that it has been honored with the Houston Bar Foundation’s 2021 Outstanding Mid-Size Firm Contribution award in recognition of the firm’s commitment to pro bono service.
Recipients were chosen for outstanding contributions to the Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL), which provides pro bono legal services to low-income residents of Harris County and the surrounding areas. HVL helps many individuals that other programs often cannot serve, such as those who may not meet the financial criteria of other legal assistance programs and non-U.S. citizens.
As a participant of HVL’s Equal Access to Justice Champions Program, Foley’s Houston office pledged to take 12 pro bono cases in 2021, but the firm “blew that out of the water with 21 cases and significant clinic participation last year,” said Foley partner and HVL board member Audrey Momanaee. “Many of our cases were adult guardianship matters, as well as some tax and other family law matters,” she added.
Award winners were honored at the Houston Bar Foundation’s annual luncheon on February 15, 2022.
