Foley Secures Carvana Land Use Approvals for 14-Story Car Tower in Skokie, IL
Foley & Lardner LLP secured land use and zoning approvals for Carvana, the fastest-growing online used car retailer known for its multi-story car vending machines, for a 14-story glass tower that will dispense and showcase vehicles in Skokie, Illinois.
Skokie’s Board of Trustees granted final approval for the Carvana tower on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, after a months-long approval process, which included a Text Amendment and Site Plan Approval. Construction on the building is set to begin soon.
Notably, Carvana is one of the youngest companies to be added to the 2021 Fortune 500 List, offering almost all the functions that a physical dealer would offer: buying and selling cars, accepting trade-ins, and financing purchases.
The Foley team advising Carvana included Partners Donna Pugh and William McKenna, Special Counsel Michael Noonan, and Land Use Planner Meaghan O’Connor.
