Foley & Lardner LLP represented the City of Milwaukee in prevailing in a motion to dismiss a False Claims Act suit.
The suit alleged that the City failed to meet required obligations to receive federal funding in support of housing programs. The City denies the allegations and filed a motion to dismiss in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. On April 10, 2023, the district court granted the City’s motion, dismissing relators’ complaint while giving them an opportunity to file an amended complaint.
The Foley team representing the City of Milwaukee is led by Partner Matt Krueger and includes Associates Harper Brown and David Wenthold.
