Foley Equipped, Senayt Rahwa Named 2023 Finalists for The American Lawyer Industry Awards
Foley & Lardner LLP product Foley Equipped and partner Senayt Rahwa have been announced as 2023 finalists in two categories for The American Lawyer Industry Awards.
Foley Equipped, the firm’s document review system powered by customized artificial intelligence, is one of eight finalists in the “Best Use of Technology” category, which recognizes the implementation of technology within a law firm to improve efficiency and the delivery of legal services. The development of the platform was led by firm partners Chanley Howell and Kate Wegrzyn in partnership with ThoughtRiver. Designed to create more efficiency in the contract review process, Foley Equipped streamlines the analysis of commercial contracts, saving clients time and money.
Rahwa is one of seven finalists in the “Best Mentor: Law Firm” category, honoring those who have devoted significant time and energy to mentoring younger professionals. She is a business lawyer who works extensively with clients in the energy industry, counseling developers and investors in the acquisition, sale, and financing of renewable energy facilities. A member of Foley’s Finance Practice Group, Energy Industry Team, and co-chair and co-founder of the firm’s Racial Justice and Equity Practice Group, Rahwa was previously recognized with Foley’s 2022 Carl Hitchner Mentor of the Year Award for her mentorship of and support for junior attorneys.
The American Lawyer selected finalists across the series’ multiple categories from more than 700 submissions received to “honor historic tenets of the profession along with its promise of continued evolution for the better.” Honorees will be recognized at an annual awards gala on November 15 in New York City.
