Louis Lehot Discusses Big Tech’s Commitment to AI Guardrails, White House Meeting
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Louis Lehot is quoted in the Corporate Counsel article, “Regulators, Big Tech Walk Fine Line in Quest to Quell Public’s AI Anxiety,” offering his perspective on a recent meeting between President Joe Biden and leading artificial intelligence companies intended to build consensus on effective guardrails to manage the risks of the emerging technology while ensuring its development.
“There’s all this press about how artificial intelligence is going to destroy jobs, destroy the quality of our life, how it’s going to lead to fake news, and, really, it gets a lot of negative attention,” Lehot explained.
“And then you have the technology industry, which is afraid of getting stuck with some type of legislation or regulation that doesn’t make any sense or that crushes it,” he added.
