Recent lateral hire Jeremy Abrams is highlighted in legal press, including the Law360 article, “Foley & Lardner Grows Tax Practice With Ex-Nike SALT Head.”
Abrams is an experienced state and local tax (SALT) attorney resident in Foley’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices. He advises clients on all aspects of multistate taxation, including controversy, planning, transactions, and legislative matters.
Abrams discussed his extensive tax background in the article, as he previously practiced SALT law at two international law firms, a Big 4 accounting firm, and recently led the state tax controversy and policy function for the world’s largest athletic apparel company.
“Being able to pull from each of those different experiences, I think that clients will really benefit from that,” he said.
Partner Lynn Gandhi, quoted in the article, said, “[Jeremy] brings a well-rounded experience of having worked as an adviser and an attorney we hope to leverage here at Foley.”
“My entire career, spanning the last 17 years, has been in multistate taxation. I have always represented clients in dozens of jurisdictions across the country,” Abrams added. “That is just part of being a SALT lawyer, you have to be nimble.”
Abrams’ move to Foley was also covered in Bloomberg Law and Bloomberg Tax.
